Lived Experience Collective (LEC)
Making your voice heard to improve pain care
At the British Pain Society, we believe the experiences and insights of those living with persistent pain—and the carers who support them—are essential for driving change. That's why the Expert Patient and Carer Commitee of the BPS created the Lived Experience Collective (LEC), a community dedicated to amplifying these voices and making a real difference in pain management, research, and advocacy.
What is the LEC?
The Lived Experience Collective is a growing network of individuals who live with persistent pain or care for someone who does. Together, we work to share stories, highlight needs, and guide improvements in pain care and support across the UK.
What does the LEC do?
As a member of the LEC, you can:
- Shape Research and Policies: Help guide studies, public understanding, and policy creation.
- Participate in Media and Events: Share your experiences through media opportunities or as part of webinars, working groups, and campaigns.
- Provide Feedback: Review and influence internal and external strategies, ensuring lived experiences remain at the heart of our efforts.
