Imposition of a new contract on Junior Doctors
12th Feb 2016
The British Pain Society is a multidisciplinary society, with 1260 members who come from a wide variety of professions, with a common vision to stop both suffering from pain and the debilitating effects of pain.
Today’s announcement of the imposition of a new contract on junior doctors and the breakdown of talks earlier this week has to raise concerns for all healthcare professionals and has the potential to lead to poorer patient care.
For our patients that means more pain and more suffering. The British Pain Society calls on all parties to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible so that a safe and fair agreement is achieved in the interest of patients and for the future of our specialty. A failure to do so significantly undermines the morale and trust of those that aim to provide the best quality health care.
