Clulow Research Grant 2025 open for applications
31st Jan 2025
We are pleased to announce that applications for the 2025 Round of the Clulow award is now open; the deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 9th May 2025.
In 2001, Mildred B Clulow bequeathed a legacy to the British Pain Society to fund research into the causes and cure of pain. In 2011 a further legacy was bequeathed from Elaine Clulow; the Society, created a research grant award named the Clulow Award. We invite submissions from BPS members from a wide range of disciplines, from basic science to clinical services.
A grant of up to £40,000 will be awarded. The funds may be awarded for a variety of purposes in support of a research project (e.g. small project grant, salary support, capital equipment purchase, running costs or additional funding to an existing grant). However, should the Grant be awarded to cover a proportion of the total costs of a research project, it will not be released until funds covering the full costs of the project are in place.
Applications will be peer reviewed, and a decision made by the British Pain Society Science and Research Committee by the end of September 2025.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a current, Ordinary member of the British Pain Society, in good standing, and have been a member for a minimum of 6 months.
- The subject of the research must be within the field of pain.
- The research must be undertaken in the UK.
